ReplyDeleteI really like the questions and arguments you all have been raising. You have all sparked some debate with my inner circle on a few topics.
Anti-social media - I see the points, but social media has been pretty powerful in my experience. Once got an internship from Twitter. Began talking to my wife on fb. My wife runs her business off Instagram/Etsy/Pinterest. The list goes on. But communication in both traditional and non-traditional ways are important. Also, I heard the same thing about cursive to validate your point.
I will check out Black Jesus just for you Jeremy, but the things I saw and heard in the trailer is so disrespectful to associate with Jesus or anything related to the God I worship. BUT I really like how you all said, the show displays how many blacks treat Jesus. I didn't get that from the trailer
Last pt of feedback, but very minor...maybe practice or research some of the things u all quote or reference. Every other episode or so you guys miss-reference something. For example, Timone from Lion King was mispronounced or the name of Boondocks creator. I think having the references adds to the quality/credibility to first-time audiences who may not know you guys. It's not a big deal, but it may be a nice tweak.
Other than that keep them coming and keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteHope all is well. Just wanted to let you know that I heard your review of Black Jesus and I thought it was very insightful. I haven't actually seen the show, but the feedback you provided kind of changed my perspective.
I was one of the folks who thought the show was mocking Jesus. Yep, without even having seen it. Smh. Lol. But your commentary led me to believe there's more to the show than meets the eye. So I'm going to check it out.
