Let Me Be....

    

Warning!!! Protect your dreams --- IMMEDIATELY! For there are those amongst us that are out to destroy them!

Pardon the dramatics, but it's been an action packed weekend filled with Superman and X-men movies, so I'm feeling tad bit theatrical. However, on the real side of things there are dream killers dwelling in the land of the living.

Too many times our greatness has been diluted by the opinions of close friends, family, associates, and supervisors that force us to question our personal motives, thoughts, ideas, and more importantly our DREAMS.

(Shots Fired)-- why you wanna do that/ that makes no sense/you should consider something else/do you really think that's going to work/ I wouldn't that if it were me --

-Shots Fired!
-BANG!
-You're Dead!

The common fate of genius and innovation, death at conception.  Before there's even an opportunity to explore possibilities, Dreams are destroyed on sight.
And the degree of the destruction is usually heightened when the respected people in our circles are the ones shooting the most fatal of shots.

Ironically, greatness does come at a heavy expense. The cost being the shots you will take once you make the decision to truly live.  Commit to living out your dreams and watch how much negativity comes your way. Supporters will turn into dissenters, and some friends will morph into adversaries. Why it happens that way is of small importance, but what matters the most is knowing that it's all a part of the journey to the top. You will experience the changes to one degree or another. The climb is tough and everyone won't make with you, some may even attempt to pull you off of the mountain to keep you from reaching max potential.

Fortunately for us,  we've been afforded the chance to impact our own destiny, so dare to dream even when it may not be popular with the people around you. The opinion of others does not have to dictate how far we go in life. Make an agreement to live outside of the box and see no ceilings.  And stay on the mountain. --- BG
