If "IF" was a 5th we'd all be drunk.
Heard that one before I'm sure.
But in all fairness, there are times when IF should be pondered. Like...
What if West Africans would have invaded Europe and traded Europeans as commerce
What if O.J. never met Nicole
What if Kim K. chose not to be recorded
What if JFK's shooter missed
What if The Nation, SCLC, and the Black Panther Party collaborated
What if Columbus never got lost
What if Big and Pac took a moment to talk
What if there was no George Bush (H or W)
What if Lincoln chose home over Ford's Theatre that night
What if the Southern Confederates prevailed
What if there was no Emancipation Proclamation
What if Obama lost
What if Jim Crow never existed
What if Jackie Robison said "Fuck it"
What if Tiger and Kobe never got caught
What if Ronald Reagan had just stuck to acting
What if there were more planes on that September day
What if Booker T and W.E.B. looked to solve the Negro Problem together
What if Katrina had been taken more serious
What if American troops never deployed to Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan
What if Radio Raheem didn't find enough D batteries
What if the police officers at Fruitvale were women
What if Zimmerman followed a 17 year old white male
What if Michael Jackson's childhood was "regular"
What if Dr. King said "NO".
What if neither YOU or I existed..would the world be changed, or would it stay the same?
If we only knew...

I'm going to pose some of these questions during my family reunion this coming weekend. It'll be nice to get some interesting conversations going... instead of just "who made the potato salad?"
